As young adults transition into greater independence, parents and caregivers play a vital role in supporting their journey. The Autism and Adulthood training series equips supportive adults with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to guide their loved ones through essential life skills and personal growth.

Sensory Friendly Performance: Secret Kindness Agents
We are excited to share that our friends at The Rose Theater Omaha are inviting up to 300 people to the sensory-friendly performance of Secret Kindness Agents on Saturday, February 1st at 2PM!
The show has reserved seating and families may choose whatever seats will set them up for the best success, either on the main floor or balcony.

Galentines: Girls Night Out!
Calling all girls and women on the autism spectrum! Join us for a fun, relaxing, and creative Girls’ Night Out! This evening is all about unwinding and expressing yourself.
Paint a custom mug, allowing you to unleash your creativity and create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece. After the mugs are painted, it may take up to 2 weeks before they are ready to take home. We will let you know when they are ready to be picked up from AAP's office.
$2/person reservation fee
Girls and women on the spectrum may be accompanied by a parent or friend. This is not a drop-off event for individuals under 18 years of age. All ages invited, but minimum age of 6-years-old is recommended.
Food will not be provided for this event, but individuals are welcome to bring their own. Oils can affect the paint we will be using so we request that participants bring only dry snacks as to not affect the quality of their artwork.

Going Up: The Elevator Experience
Common Senses Festival is at it again with new and exciting events with a focus on arts, science and disability acceptance. This year, Common Senses Festival will team up with AAP for a unique event called Going Up: The Elevator Experience.
If you know an elevator enthusiast - or think it would be amazing to experience some of downtown Omaha's most unique elevators (some you don't typically have access to), then YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE! On May 10th, AAP and Common Senses Festival will host Going Up with presenting sponsor FNBO.
We can't tell you all the details YET, but if you're interested and want to be the FIRST to know details as they emerge, opt in to receive email updates as we finalize more.

Looking to practice your acting chops? Join us on Sunday, November 17th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM for an adults only performance workshop focusing on ad-libbing and peer awareness. LifeQuest: Scavenger Hunt
Join us on Saturday, November 9th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for an interactive, city-wide scavenger hunt! You're in for a day of learning and exploration! In the morning, you'll gain practical skills for navigating the city’s metro buses and ride-sharing apps, with hands-on guidance to help you feel confident. After lunch, test what you've learned with a fun city scavenger hunt, supported by staff to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Bring a lunch or money to buy lunch at one of the exciting destinations along the way!
This event is for autistic adults ages 18+.
