CLASS DESCRIPTION
Finance 1: Why Money Matters is designed to help neurodivergent adults build a strong foundation in personal finance by exploring the purpose behind everyday money decisions. Rather than focusing on budgeting tools alone, this course teaches the why behind financial habits—empowering participants to think critically about their income, spending, and financial goals.
Participants will:
Learn the basics of financial concepts like income, expenses, saving, and budgeting.
Explore real-world tools such as debit cards, banking apps, and online bill payments.
Practice strategies for handling routine money tasks, including tracking spending and paying bills on time.
Use simple frameworks to make sense of common financial decisions, from needs vs. wants to saving for the future.
By the end of the course, participants will better understand how money functions in their day-to-day lives and feel more confident managing it. Why Money Matters sets the stage for long-term financial independence by combining practical skills with big-picture thinking in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment.
