Ready to explore Omaha while building real-world independence skills?
Join us for an interactive Public Transportation Workshop where participants will learn how to confidently navigate the Omaha Metro using buses, route maps, transportation apps, and trip-planning tools. The morning will begin with a one-hour hands-on training module focused on understanding public transportation basics, safety, route planning, and how to problem solve while traveling in the community.
Then it’s time to put those skills into action!
Participants will break into small groups alongside trained staff members for a city-wide scavenger hunt across the Omaha Metro. Teams will travel to multiple locations using public transportation while completing fun challenges, solving clues, and practicing real-life navigation skills in a supportive environment.
This workshop is designed to build confidence, independence, teamwork, and community navigation skills through hands-on learning and adventure.
Important Notes:
Participants will be fully supported by trained staff throughout the event.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
Lunch is not provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a snack, water bottle, and about $15 for lunch at Westroads.
