This one-hour info session is your chance to preview the Social 1 course and learn how it fits into Prosper Academy’s expanded programming, which now focuses on the four core domains of independent living:
Social, Living, Finance, and Work.

In this session, we’ll cover:

  • How the in-person and virtual formats work

  • What tools and supports are provided and how you can support your loved one's skill development

  • What kind of outcomes to expect

  • How to access financial assistance

About Social 1: Building the Foundation for Friendships

Social 1 is a four-week course designed for young adults and adults with autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) who are ready to strengthen their social skills.

Participants build confidence and connection by exploring:

  • Understanding Yourself & Building Self-Esteem

  • Making and Keeping Friends

  • Conversation Skills and Body Language

  • Setting Social Goals and Gaining Confidence

Through interactive instruction, role-playing, guided reflection, and optional online modules via Google Classroom, Social 1 helps participants move from social hesitation to social readiness.

This course is part of Prosper Academy’s new slate of skill-based learning experiences, focused on building real-world independence across multiple areas of adult life.
