The Nutcracker is a beloved holiday tradition around the world!

Autism Action Partnership and the American Midwest Ballet proudly present The Nutcracker this holiday season with the 2nd Annual sensory-friendly performance for families in the autism community.

The performance is Sunday, November 20th from 2-3:30 PM at the Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center. American Midwest Ballet has worked closely with AAP to modify the performance in order to better serve those with sensory needs.

Please see below the following modifications being made to this specific performance: 

• Performance shortened with a run time (including intermission) of 1 hour, 20 minutes

• Designated space to stand if sitting becomes too much

• "Quiet Zone" off of the lobby for those who need it during the performance (with live video feed from performance)

• Gluten free snack for guests provided and beverages available for purchase

• Loud, surprise moments in the music and performance reduced

• Light cues modified (especially during battle scene)

• Social narratives and study guides will be available prior to the performance
